Justin Bieber - Dozens of girls injured in Norway concert

Oslo's mayor has launched an investigation into yesterday's near-catastrophic Justin Bieber concert in Norway -- after 49 teenage girls were injured in the fandemonium ... and 14 were taken by ambulance for emergency care.

No one was seriously injured, but Mayor Fabian Stang groused, "I have already called on the Emergency Planning Agency to examine the entire event from the planning stage to its implementation. We have to find out what went wrong and why it happened."

TMZ broke the story ... Oslo police nearly declared a state of emergency as tens of thousands of teenage Bieber fans descended on the city, mobbing the streets.

Mayor Stang said it got so bad ... he had to hide behind a tree at one point to avoid getting trampled. Some people even tried to use inflatable rafts to reach the stage.

Zimbabwe’s powerful performer of Chikwata, whose poetry is street, urban, hip hop and African is set to be the official host for Miombo Magic Musical Festival, a two day music festival to be held in Christonbank, 25km north of Harare.

The Festival to be held in a private game reserve with beautiful views overlooking the Golden Stairs and Iron Mask Range will run from 1000 hours of June 02 to 1500 hours of June 03, 2012.

Raising the curtains of the show on Saturday morning will be Word is Power, a home-grown gospel rock band from Christon Bank and Prayer Soul Mtamangira, Zimbabwe's finest neo-soul artist, whose music is a soulful blend of mellow vocals and fresh guitar.

In an interview with NewsDay yesterday, the 25-year-old Zambian R&B singer, who was booted out of the show last Sunday, said she believed the $300 000 prize will go to Roki or Sierra Leone’s Zainab because of the duo’s interesting characters.

“These two housemates thrilled me when I was in the house because of their characters. They are special cases because they are weird, mad, insane and beyond crazy,” said Mampi.

Tyler Perry is calling BS on reports Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina walked off the set of his TV show "For Better Or Worse" -- claiming the rumors are "not true at all."

Bobbi Kristina has a small recurring role on the show -- but reports have been circulating she called it quits before wrapping the season, storming off the set in tears.

Now Tyler -- the creator of the show -- has taken to his website to dispel the rumors, writing, "There is no way that she could have walked off the set because we have finished taping the season."

Tyler writes, "Were there tough days for her? Yes of course. Not because of the acting or any job-related issues but because of the fact that she had just lost her mother."

He adds, "So yes she was grieving, but grief aside, she managed to finish her obligation and did a great job at the same time." TMZ

Popular South African house music disc jockey, DJ Fresh, is set to perform at Sports 747 on June 23.
Fresh is a veteran sought-after international music selector. A spokesperson for Sports 747 told NewsDay yesterday Fresh would jet into the country on June 23 in the afternoon and perform in the evening.

“In the afternoon of June 23 he will mix and mingle with his fans at 747 and also go on a tour of the city,” he said. Fresh, a presenter on 5FM in South Africa, will perform in the city for the first time this year having thrilled house music fans in August last year at Bar Labhala.

Popular pole dancer Beverly Sibanda, known as Bev in show business, says she battling a heart ailment. The seductive dancer reportedly collapsed on stage during her performance at Players Bar and Restaurant in Harare a fortnight ago, and later announced that she was suffering from a heart problem.

“I have a heart problem which affects me occasionally but I am well now. I still need to visit a doctor to have the problem rectified. The condition is not going to affect my shows for this weekend because I am as fit as a fiddle,” she said.

BULAWAYO’S leading songstress and dancer Sandra Ndebele and her dance crew Intombi Zomqangala yesterday left the country for a month-long tour of Russia. The all-female ensemble is set to showcase their debut production The Princess of Africa at the White Night Festival in Perm, Russia. Ndebele said eight girls would represent the country at the international fete.

“We are leaving the country tomorrow for Russia where we will be conducting a number of workshops in Perm. We will go out in the community to teach and nurture young aspiring dancers in Russia,” said Ndebele.

Usher opens up about his past relationships in the latest issue of Q magazine. The R&B superstar, who is currently locked in a bitter custody battle with his ex-wife Tameka Foster, reveals that he’s been a playboy when it comes to his relationships with women.

“I’ve had many women. And I understand how to deal with a lot of different ones,” he tells the magazine (via Entertainmentwise). “But it is complicated when your reality is a fantasy. Fame is the modern double-edged sword.”

Douglas Chimbetu, who recently took stewardship of Orchestra Dendera Kings (Central Committee) following his father’s departure, has decided to join forces with his cousin Tryson to ensure he masters his first steps as the band’s new leader.

Douglas’ father Allan, who founded the group, left to join his nephew, Sulumani, due to waning fortunes. Tryson has been on a steady rise on the dendera ladder and Douglas has decided to come under his cousin’s shadow in a bid to rescue the Orchestra Dendera Kings (Central Committee) ship from sinking.

Mary J. Blige has learned a valuable lesson about running a charity since her foundation was slapped with a $250,000 lawsuit -- telling TMZ, she let dumbasses handle her finances ... and now she's paying the price.

TMZ broke the story ... (if you missed it read it here) Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now is being sued by TD Bank over a $250k loan it took out back in June 2011.

TD Bank claims it loaned FFAWN the money in June 2011 -- and FFAWN agreed to repay it by December 2011 ... but so far, TD Bank has only received $368.33.

Now, Mary tells us, "As Founder and CEO of FFAWN, I am ultimately responsible for anything that goes wrong. The problem is that I didn't have the right people in the right places doing the right things. This should have never been allowed to happen, but it did and now we are fixing it."

The singer says she's working tirelessly with a new team of experts to "get the Foundation back on track, rectify outstanding issues, and make good on all of FFAWN's obligations." TMZ

Ray J sued for ditching clothes in Whitney's death room

When Whitney Houston died, a little bit of Ray J went with her -- well, Ray J's clothing anyway ... and now he's being sued for the expensive items that mysteriously disappeared from room 434 at the Beverly Hilton.

In recently filed legal docs, L.A. Stylist Marc Littlejohn claims he was hired to do Ray J's wardrobe styling on February 10 for a Grammy related event ... problem is, he alleges all the duds he let the singer borrow were left in Whitney Houston's room.

Houston died the next day in that room and, according to the lawsuit ... the pricey clothes haven't been seen since.

Now Littlejohn is suing Ray J for $2,880 -- the cost of the missing clothes -- insisting he's reached out to both the singer and his mother/manager repeatedly to get some cash or the threads. So far, he has neither. TMZ

Worship festival preps on course

Preparations for this year’s edition of the Crossline Music Worship Festival which features two American award-winning gospel artistes are on course, organisers have said. Pastor Herman Chimusoro of Crossline Music and Video, the organisers, announced yesterday that both Michael W. Smith and Nicole C. Mullen had confirmed their presence at the show.

“There are a number of artistes from here such as Jeys Marabini, Chase Skuza, Mokis Connection and my sister Sandra. But, where are they? Where are they? I am here and I am filling up this place but where are they?” he said.

Not everyone can claim that a car breakdown led them to musical stardom, but that is how Edith WeUtonga discovered her “calling” to become Zimbabwe’s only female bass guitar player.

It all started when WeUtonga – at that time lead singer with the all-woman band Amakhosikazi – was travelling back from Hwange after a performance. The car came to a halt in the middle of nowhere. While waiting to be rescued, WeUtonga randomly picked up a guitar and strummed a few notes. The effect was like lightning. “I immediately fell in love,” she says.

The band recently released its debut album entitled Tindo, whose essence is a uniquely Zimbabwean sound that is a pleasing blend of tight sungura and jiti rhythms with colourful maungwe lyrics.

Taurai (17) is specialising in solo dancing and stage acting and he recently did an amazing solo performance in Rusape in support of Madzibaba Zachariah’s show where he danced to kwaito, sungura and rhumba music.

On the same day, the youngster also performed with Alick Macheso on one of his popular songs, “Wemakonzo”. As they shared the stage, Taurai acted three characters in one scene, as the babamukuru, tezvara and the girl in the song.
